Obama Nobel Peace Prize Speech

While accepting his Nobel Peace Prize in Oslo, Norway Thursday, wartime President Obama acknowledged criticism about his selection — particularly given his recent decision to send more than 3,000 U.S. to Afghanistan — but said the use of force is sometimes deemed “not only necessary but morally justified.” via

Barbara Walters 10 Most Fascinating People Of 2009

Adam Lambert owes Barbara Walters and ABC big-time here — ironically after accusing the network of discrimination. Barbara did a great job in framing how people should perceive him moving forward. Too bad Adam’s PR team couldn’t do that for themselves over the past 2 1/2 weeks. Things are quickly getting back on track and looking up with this interview and the appearance on The View tomorrow. But like Adam said, I have no idea how the AMA fallout will affect his career.

Negative Rickey says the numbers don’t lie: Adam’s sales are down 74% after one week. With Justin Bieber outselling the “phenom” that is Adam Lambert on his third week, I would be worried. via

The Wonder Girls

The Wonder Girls to perform on “so you think you can dance” : After opening for the Jonas Brothers on their tour, it seems the Wonder Girls are making a big impression on US audiences. Despite the fact that a lot of K-Pop fans don’t think they, of all the bands, deserve it, this group is becoming the ambassador for K-Pop–at least to America. An appearance next week on American TV will surely seal the deal.

Pop sensation Wonder Girls sold over 30,000 copies of their debut single “Nobody” during the week of October 11 earning them the No. 76 position with a bullet on the Hot 100. This is the first time ever a music group from South Korea has debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart. Already a hit in Asia, the Wonder Girls are striking a chord with a young U.S. audience, having just completed their first U.S. concert tourwith the Jonas Brothers.”

What do you think. Do the Wonder Girls deserve it? Or would you rather see someone else. And isn’t “Nobody” such an old track? We remember when they performed it in our studio. Well — it’s still great. via

South Washington County Schools

The South Washington County school district will not change start times this school year to fix transportation problems, Superintendent Mark Porter said in a statement Thursday.

Elementary school children were waiting about 10 minutes at the end of the day while buses finished taking middle school students home. Officials contracted 10 additional buses in October to temporarily solve the problem, and they were considering moving middle school start times up by 10 or 15 minutes starting in January.

However, responses from a community survey were inconclusive, and any changes will not be made until the start of the 2010-11 school year, Porter's statement said.

Middle schools currently start at 7:55 a.m. New schedules were set across the district this fall to accommodate the opening of a third high school and the conversion of junior highs to middle schools and because of research that shows high school students benefit from later start times. via

Beast of Kandahar

Have you seen the picture of the Beast of Kandahar?

Read an article below from asiaone.com, then watch the video by the link below:

The US Air Force on Tuesday confirmed for the first time that it is flying a stealth unmanned aircraft known as the "Beast of Kandahar," a drone spotted in photos and shrouded in secrecy.

The RQ-170 Sentinel is being developed by Lockheed Martin and is designed "to provide reconnaissance and surveillance support to forward deployed combat forces," the air force said in a brief statement.

The "RQ" prefix for the aircraft indicates an unarmed drone, unlike the "MQ" designation used for Predator and Reaper aircraft equipped with missiles and precision-guided bombs.
